1. Who We Are

Pickle ("Pickle," "we," "our," or "us") refers to the service provided by us.

This Privacy Policy applies to:

  • The Pickle iOS application.

  • Pickle's website and related online services.

  • Our integrations with third-party applications and services.

  • Our Live Activities, Dynamic Island experiences, notifications, and related features.

Contact: yutishgoel@gmail.com

Website: trypickle.app

Privacy Policy URL: trypickle.app/privacypolicy

For applicable data protection laws, the identity of the organization responsible for processing your personal information will be the entity identified above, subject to the roles and responsibilities of our third-party integration providers.

2. Information We Collect

The information we collect depends on the features you use, the permissions you grant, and the integrations you connect.

We aim to collect only the information reasonably necessary to provide Pickle's features, operate the service, maintain security, and improve reliability.

2.1 Account Information

When you create or use a Pickle account, we may collect:

  • Your name or display name, if provided.

  • Your email address.

  • Your account identifier.

  • Authentication and account security information.

  • Your subscription status and related entitlement information.

  • Your preferences, selected experiences, and configuration settings.

  • Your support requests and communications with us.

If you sign in using a third-party authentication provider, that provider may share basic account information with us according to the permissions and disclosures presented during sign-in.

We do not need access to your third-party account password to connect supported services through an authorization flow.

2.2 Connected Integrations

Pickle allows users to connect supported third-party applications. Depending on the integrations available and the permissions you approve, these may include services such as:

  • Google Calendar and other supported Google services.

  • Gmail.

  • Shopify.

  • Stripe.

  • PostHog.

  • GitHub.

  • Other integrations that we introduce and clearly identify within Pickle.

Connecting an integration is optional. The information accessed depends on the specific integration, the permissions granted, and the features you choose to enable.

Examples of information that an integration may provide include:

Calendar integrations

  • Event titles, dates, times, and durations.

  • Meeting links and locations, where authorized.

  • Event status and cancellation information.

  • Calendar identifiers and related metadata needed to identify events.

Email integrations

  • Sender and recipient information.

  • Email subjects, timestamps, labels, and read status.

  • Message content only when the granted permissions and a feature require it.

Pickle should request only the email access necessary for the features it offers. If a feature can operate using email metadata, we do not need to request full message-content access for that feature.

Shopify

  • Store identifiers and basic store information.

  • Order counts, order totals, currency, and timestamps.

  • Refund, cancellation, and fulfillment information.

  • Other store information required for the features you enable and the permissions you approve.

Stripe

  • Account or connected-business identifiers.

  • Payment and transaction events.

  • Payment amounts, currencies, timestamps, and statuses.

  • Subscription, refund, and failed-payment information, where authorized.

PostHog

  • Project or account identifiers.

  • Product analytics metrics, such as active users, event counts, and trends.

  • Other analytics information necessary to display the insights you select.

GitHub

  • Repository identifiers and names.

  • Issues, pull requests, review requests, and their statuses.

  • Relevant assignment and activity metadata, where authorized.

These are examples, not a statement that every integration accesses every listed category. The actual data accessed will depend on the integration's implementation and the permissions presented to you.

We do not intend to access information unrelated to Pickle's stated functionality.

2.3 Information Generated Through Pickle

When you use Pickle, we may process information such as:

  • The Dynamic Island experience you select.

  • Which integrations and features you enable.

  • Update timestamps and synchronization status.

  • Whether an event was displayed, dismissed, snoozed, or marked complete, where those actions are supported.

  • Feature usage and app interaction events.

  • Error reports, crash information, and technical diagnostics.

We use this information to operate the service, select relevant updates, troubleshoot problems, and improve the reliability of Pickle.

2.4 Device and Technical Information

Depending on the implementation and services you use, we may collect or process:

  • Device and operating system information.

  • App version and configuration.

  • Network and connection status.

  • IP address and server request metadata.

  • Push notification or Live Activity update tokens.

  • Technical logs and error information.

These details help us authenticate requests, maintain connections, diagnose issues, prevent abuse, and deliver supported features.

We do not use device information for advertising tracking unless such a practice is separately introduced with the required disclosures and permissions.

2.5 Subscription and Payment Information

If you purchase a Pickle subscription, payment processing may be handled by Apple or another payment provider, depending on the purchase method.

We may receive information such as your subscription status, product identifier, transaction reference, renewal status, and entitlement information.

We do not need to collect or store your full payment card number or security code when payment processing is handled by a third-party payment provider. The provider handles payment information under its own privacy policy.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use information for the following purposes.

3.1 Provide Pickle's Core Features

We process authorized integration data to provide the experiences you request, including:

  • Displaying upcoming calendar events.

  • Showing selected business and store metrics.

  • Surfacing relevant product analytics.

  • Displaying important updates from supported services.

  • Maintaining the state of your selected Dynamic Island experience.

  • Synchronizing information between connected services and your device.

3.2 Select Relevant Proactive Updates

Pickle may evaluate information such as urgency, timing, freshness, user preferences, and event importance to decide which supported experience should be displayed or updated.

For example, Pickle may prioritize an upcoming meeting over a routine analytics summary, or surface a payment event if you have enabled that feature.

This processing is intended to make Pickle useful and timely. It does not mean that every integration event will generate a notification or Live Activity update.

3.3 Maintain and Improve the Service

We may use technical diagnostics and appropriately limited product usage information to:

  • Fix errors and crashes.

  • Improve performance and reliability.

  • Understand whether features work as intended.

  • Prevent abuse and unauthorized access.

  • Improve synchronization and update delivery.

Where practical, we use aggregated or de-identified information for service analysis.

3.4 Communicate With You

We may use your contact information to respond to support requests, send important service notices, explain material changes, or communicate about your account.

We will obtain any additional consent required for marketing communications, and you may opt out of marketing messages where applicable.

3.5 Meet Legal and Security Requirements

We may process information when necessary to comply with applicable law, enforce our terms, protect users, investigate security incidents, or establish and defend legal claims.

4. Google User Data and Limited Use

When you connect Google services, including Google Calendar or Gmail, Pickle accesses Google user data only through the permissions you authorize and for the features disclosed to you.

Our use of Google user data is subject to Google's applicable API terms and User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

In particular:

  • We use Google user data to provide the user-facing Pickle features you request.

  • We do not sell Google user data.

  • We do not use Google user data for advertising or personalized advertising.

  • We do not use Google user data to train general-purpose AI or machine-learning models.

  • We do not transfer Google user data except as permitted by Google's policies, applicable law, and the consents required for the relevant service.

  • We restrict access to Google user data and apply appropriate safeguards to protect it.

If we use a service provider to process Google user data, that processing must be limited to the permitted purposes and comply with applicable requirements.

You can revoke Pickle's access through the relevant Google account security settings. Revoking access may stop the corresponding Pickle features from working.

5. How Pickle Displays Information

Pickle is designed to surface selected information through your iPhone's Dynamic Island, Live Activities, notifications, and other supported system interfaces.

Depending on your configuration, this information may include:

  • Calendar event titles and countdowns.

  • Revenue totals or order counts.

  • Product analytics summaries.

  • Email metadata or selected email information.

  • Other information from integrations you have enabled.

Information shown on the Dynamic Island or Lock Screen may be visible to someone who can see your device. Some system interfaces may display information even when the Pickle app is not open.

You are responsible for choosing appropriate display settings for your circumstances. Where supported, Pickle will provide controls to limit sensitive details or choose what information is displayed.

We recommend hiding sensitive information on shared devices or whenever your Lock Screen may be visible to others.

Pickle's ability to refresh Live Activities is subject to Apple's operating system behavior, network conditions, update limits, and other technical restrictions. Updates may be delayed or unavailable.

6. How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information to data brokers.

We share information only as described below and as otherwise permitted by applicable law.

6.1 Third-Party Integrations

When you connect a third-party service, Pickle communicates with that service to provide the feature you requested.

The service provider may separately collect or process information under its own privacy policy and terms. Your connection to Pickle does not replace your relationship with that provider.

6.2 Service Providers

We may use carefully selected service providers to operate Pickle. Depending on our actual technical setup, these may include providers for:

  • Backend hosting and databases.

  • Authentication and account management.

  • Integration APIs and webhook processing.

  • Push notification delivery.

  • Error monitoring and diagnostics.

  • Product analytics.

  • Subscription and payment management.

  • Customer support.

These providers may process information on our behalf only to perform authorized services, subject to appropriate contractual, security, and legal requirements.

Before publishing this policy, we will identify the relevant categories accurately and ensure that our actual provider arrangements match this description.

6.3 Legal and Safety Reasons

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to:

  • Comply with a valid legal obligation or lawful request.

  • Protect the rights, safety, and security of users or others.

  • Investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents.

  • Establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

6.4 Business Transfers

If Pickle is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law and appropriate privacy protections.

6.5 With Your Direction or Consent

We may share information in other ways when you specifically direct us to do so or provide the consent required by law.

7. AI and Automated Processing

Pickle may use automated rules or other computational methods to determine which information is relevant to display, prioritize updates, calculate summaries, or personalize your experience.

If an AI-powered feature is introduced, the information required by that feature will be disclosed before or when you use it.

We will not use connected account information for unrelated AI training or other purposes that are incompatible with the permissions and disclosures under which it was collected.

Any use of third-party AI services must be consistent with applicable provider policies, our contractual commitments, and the privacy disclosures made to you.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Pickle, fulfill the purposes described in this policy, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain security.

Retention periods vary by data category.

  • Account information: retained while your account is active and for a limited period afterward where necessary for legitimate operational or legal purposes.

  • Integration credentials: retained while an integration remains connected, subject to any additional period required for secure revocation or recovery.

  • Integration data and metric summaries: retained only as long as needed for the relevant feature, synchronization, and operational requirements.

  • Technical logs and diagnostics: retained for a limited period appropriate to security, troubleshooting, and service reliability.

  • Subscription and transaction records: retained as necessary for accounting, billing, fraud prevention, and legal requirements.

We will define and implement specific retention periods for these categories in our internal data-retention practices.

When information is no longer required, we will delete it or de-identify it, unless retention is required or permitted by law.

9. Disconnecting Integrations and Deleting Data

You can stop using an integration without necessarily deleting your entire Pickle account.

9.1 Disconnect an Integration

When you disconnect a service, Pickle will stop requesting new data through that connection, subject to the provider's authorization and revocation mechanisms.

We will delete or disable the relevant stored credentials and remove associated data according to our retention policy, except where continued retention is required for security, legal, or other permitted purposes.

Disconnecting Pickle does not automatically delete data held by the third-party provider itself.

9.2 Revoke Third-Party Permissions

You can also revoke access directly through the relevant third-party service, such as your Google account or other provider's authorization settings.

Once access is revoked, the corresponding Pickle integration may stop functioning.

9.3 Delete Your Pickle Account

You may request deletion of your Pickle account and associated personal information by using the account deletion feature, if available, or contacting us at:

yutishgoel@gmail.com

We will verify your request as appropriate and delete or de-identify the relevant information within the period required by applicable law, subject to lawful retention exceptions.

Deleting your Pickle account may remove your saved preferences, connected account records, and stored integration data. It does not automatically delete records maintained independently by third-party services.

We will explain any material limitations or information that must be retained by law.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, loss, and misuse.

Depending on the information and our actual infrastructure, these measures may include:

  • Encryption in transit.

  • Appropriate encryption or other protections for stored credentials.

  • Restricted access to production systems.

  • Authentication and authorization controls.

  • Secure handling and verification of integration events.

  • Monitoring for suspicious activity.

  • Software maintenance and security updates.

No method of transmission, storage, or electronic processing is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect information using safeguards appropriate to the nature of the service.

If a data breach occurs, we will take appropriate steps to investigate, mitigate harm, and provide notifications where required by applicable law.

11. International Data Transfers

Pickle and its service providers may process information in countries other than the country in which you reside.

Where information is transferred internationally, we will use appropriate safeguards and comply with applicable data protection requirements.

The protections available to you may vary depending on your location and the laws that apply to the transfer.

12. Your Privacy Rights and Choices

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to:

  • Request access to personal information we hold about you.

  • Request correction of inaccurate information.

  • Request deletion of personal information.

  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

  • Object to or request restrictions on certain processing.

  • Request a copy of certain information in a portable format.

  • Lodge a complaint with a relevant data protection authority.

You can also manage several privacy choices directly in Pickle, including disconnecting integrations and changing which information appears in supported Live Activities.

Additional information for users in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland

Where applicable data protection laws provide these rights, you may also request information about our legal basis for processing, object to certain processing, request restriction, or lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

13. Cookies and Website Technologies

Our website may use cookies, local storage, or similar technologies to provide core functionality, remember preferences, maintain security, and understand website performance.

The specific technologies used will depend on our website implementation.

Where legally required, we will obtain consent before using non-essential cookies or similar technologies.

You can manage cookies through your browser settings and any consent controls provided on our website. Disabling certain technologies may affect website functionality.

If we introduce advertising or additional tracking technologies, we will update this policy and provide the choices required by applicable law.

14. Third-Party Services and Links

Pickle may contain links to third-party websites or connect to third-party services.

We do not control the privacy practices of independent third parties. Their collection and use of information are governed by their own privacy policies, terms, and settings.

We encourage you to review the relevant policies before connecting an account or using a third-party service.

15. Children's Privacy

Pickle is intended for users who are at least 13 years old, or the higher minimum age required by applicable law in their jurisdiction.

Pickle is not designed for children under the applicable minimum age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.

If you believe a child has provided personal information to Pickle in circumstances where collection is not permitted, contact us at yutishgoel@gmail.com so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

Where applicable law requires parental consent or a different age threshold, we will follow those requirements.

16. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Pickle evolves, integrations change, new features are introduced, or legal requirements change.

When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

If a change materially affects how we collect, use, disclose, or otherwise process personal information, we will provide additional notice and obtain consent where required by law.

We encourage you to review this page periodically.
